Woman arraigned for false police report
OTESEGO COUNTY, Mich. –A woman who falsely reported that she was kidnapped at gunpoint in the Lansing area and sexually assaulted is now being charged with a crime. The Otsego County Prosecutor’s Office authorized charges against 19-year-old Abigail Elizabeth Arsenault. Charges stem from a 9-1-1 call placed on March 26, 2021. At that time, Arsenault alleged she managed to escape her captor while in Elmira several hours later. Through the investigation it was determined that the information was false. Aresenalt was arraigned in the 87-A District Court in Otsego County on April 22, 2021 on one count False Report of a Felony. She was given a $10,000 PR bond. Her next scheduled court appearance is on May 13, 2021.
