Winter Weather Advisory issued for Wednesday predawn-midday

Snow will move into our area overnight/predawn early Wednesday. The National Weather Service has issued Winter Weather Advisories across all of Northern Lower Michigan and also along the Lake Michigan shoreline in the Upper Peninsula. In Northeast Michigan, the Winter Weather Advisory will go into effect at 1 a.m. early Wednesday and is scheduled to continue until 1 p.m. Wednesday afternoon.

Locally, snow will begin between midnight and 3 a.m. The steadiest snow will fall from 3 a.m. to noon. 3-5 inches of snow are forecast across Northeast Michigan during the predawn and morning hours. Expect roadways to become snow covered and travel speeds much slower than usual Wednesday morning. With temperatures climbing above freezing, there’s a chance this will end as a rain/snow mix Wednesday afternoon.

Stay tuned to WBKB News for the latest on the wintry weather moving in early Wednesday. Meteorologist Elie Morrison will have your full forecast on WBKB News at 6 p.m. and 11 p.m. this evening.
