Whittemore-Prescott moves to 8-Man football
WHITTEMORE, Mich.—The Whittemore-Prescott Cardinals are making a big jump. They will be transitioning from 11 man football to 8 man for the 2020 season. The main reason for this move was the low number of players that came out to practice when the team resumed on Tuesday, only 13 players attended.
Coach Tommy Atkinson Says If They Wanted To Play This Year They Needed To Make The Switch.
” This is our kids best chance of playing football,” he said ” At a time where these kids had some many things taken away from them last few months I couldn’t stomach not letting them play football”
The cardinals will be independent for the 2020 season then they will move to the North Star league in 2021.
