Weekend apartment fire on Lockwood Street in Alpena
ALPENA, Mich. — Residents found themselves evacuating their residence at an apartment building on Lockwood Street over the weekend.
The Alpena City Fire Department extinguished a fire coming from the apartment building on Saturday. Crews tracked smoke to a neighbor’s attic at the same building, who was asleep at the time of the fire. Fire damage was contained to the apartment’s attic.
Thankfully, no one was injured. Investigators believe an electrical issue may have caused the problem.
