ALPENA, MI – Football season feels like it only started yesterday but we’ve come to the end of the regular season. It’s time to see what teams in the area ended the season on a high note.

Alpena was at home against St. Johns to wrap up their season. St. Johns hadn’t scored more than 27 points in a single game this year but ended up breaking their season high in this game against the Wildcats, as the Redwings win it 41-7. The Oscoda Owls have been on a roll and haven’t lost a game since September. They would continue their winning ways beating Houghton Lake 36-19. The Posen Vikings unfortunately finish their season with just one win as the Au-Gres Sims Wolverines keep their perfect season intact winning by a big margin, 66-22.

Meanwhile, Johannesburg-Lewiston needed a win and badly to avoid having a winless year for 2021. It would be close but the Cardinals just fell short against Manton 34-38. The Alcona Tigers shut out Onaway and finished the season 5-4 with a massive victory with a final score of 44-0. Hillman’s Owen Moulton against Pellston had 40 carries for 191 yards and two touchdowns as the Tigers win 20-12. In a high scoring affair, Whittemore-Prescott broke their four game losing streak against Atlanta winning 68-52. The Hale Eagles also had a massive shutout win against Heston Academy winning 68-0. Finally, Tawas Area finishes the season winless after falling to Laker 68-20.
