Warming to the 50s Thursday and breezy

High temperatures today reached 40 degrees in Alpena, 48 degrees in Green Bay, Wisc., and 53 degrees in Minneapolis. That warmth over Minnesota Wednesday will migrate east into Michigan. Highs will reach the 50s in Alpena Thursday afternoon.

Winds will remain breezy tonight through Thursday afternoon. Thursday, winds will come out of the southwest at 15-20 mph. That southwest wind will drive warmer temperatures into Northeast Michigan.

The normal high temperatures this time of year is in the lower 40s — temperatures will climb well above that Thursday. Highs Thursday will be near 56 degrees. Friday, temperatures will still remain above normal with highs near 50 degrees. Cooler temperatures will return to our area over the weekend with highs in the lower 40s, but that’s quite typical of late-November temperatures.

Thursday: Warmer with a mix of sun and clouds. Early-morning temperatures will briefly dip to the middle/upper 30s. Temperatures will rise to the middle/upper 40s in the late-morning. Afternoon highs will reach about 56 degrees. Evening temperatures will be near 50 degrees.

Friday: A warm morning, mostly cloudy. Early-morning temperatures will start in the lower 40s. Afternoon highs will be near 50 degrees. Evening temperatures will head into the lower 40s/upper 30s.

Saturday: Cooler and mostly cloudy. Early-morning temperatures will drop to the lower 30s. Afternoon highs will be near 41 degrees. Evening temperatures will cool to about 30 degrees.
