Warmer Thursday and rain moving in late

The next storm system currently over Montana is heading east. It will usher in warm temperatures tomorrow and bring rain in the evening. After that, temperatures will cool down and winds will strengthen out of the west on Friday.

High temperatures today reached 37 degrees in Alpena. Highs were in the 40s to the south of our area. Temperatures got up to 42 degrees in Saginaw and 45 degrees in Chicago. A breeze out of the south will bring warmer temperature to our area.

Lows tonight will be in the upper 20s with mostly cloudy skies. Thursday will start with dry weather, a low chance of rain showers will develop in the afternoon, and highs will get up to 49 degrees. Winds will come from the south at 10-15 mph. The chance of rain will be most likely in the evening.

A look at “Future Rainfall” shows 0.25-0.5 inches of rain are expected across Northeast Michigan. This will take place mainly during the evening hours on Thursday.

High temperatures will get close to the 50 degree mark Thursday afternoon. Rain is likely Thursday evening, then drier conditions will move in Friday. Highs will reach about 40 degrees Friday afternoon. The weekend will be brighter and cooler with partly cloudy skies. Highs will get up to 36 degrees Saturday afternoon, and 32 degrees Sunday afternoon.
