Warmer temperatures will move in this weekend with partly cloudy skies

A high pressure system centered over Lake Superior is bringing clearing skies to our area. Both Saturday and Sunday will be partly cloudy. As high pressure drifts eastward, winds will shift out of the southwest, and that will bring warmer temperatures to Northeast Michigan.

Low temperatures overnight will cool to about 8 degrees. Morning temperatures will be in the lower teens. Afternoon temperatures will reach highs near 42 degrees with a breeze out of the southwest. Partly cloudy skies are expected throughout the day. Evening temperatures will remain mild, in the middle 30s.

Our cold air from Friday will move to the Northeast states on Saturday. The jet stream will go north into central Canada, and that will allow warm air to reach up to the Canadian border. A warm air mass over the southern Plains will move into the Great Lakes region this weekend.

Saturday will be partly cloudy with highs in the lower 40s. Sunday morning will start with low temperatures near 30 degrees, and afternoon highs will warm to about 53 degrees. Rain will likely move in Monday and highs will be near 50 degrees. Cooler temperatures are expected Tuesday.
