Warmer temperatures late-week; Drier Thursday-Friday

High temperatures today reached the upper 20s for most locations across Northeast Michigan with a breeze out of the southeast about 10-15 mph. Daily high temperatures will continue to warm through the rest of the week.

A round of snow has moved in from our southwest, while the low pressure system is currently centered over western Minnesota. Periods of snow will continue through the rest of this evening, possible mixing with freezing drizzle south of M-72 creating slippery roadways there.

Overnight lows will drop only to the middle 20s as the snow comes to an end. A few scattered flurries are possible tomorrow morning with temperatures in the lower/middle 20s. Skies will become mostly cloudy in the afternoon as highs reach around 33 degrees.

We will see much drier weather tomorrow continuing into Friday. Some sunshine will make an appearance on Friday, then the chance of precipitation increases this weekend. On Saturday, a wintry mix will start in the afternoon, changing to rain in the evening as temperatures climb above the freezing mark. More messy precipitation is likely on Sunday.

Despite a few flurries early, much drier weather will move into our area tomorrow with highs in the lower 30s. We will see some sunshine on Friday with slightly warmer temperatures. The weekend is looking messy, a wintry mix is forecast to move in Saturday afternoon including the possibility of freezing rain and sleet, changing to rain in the evening as temperatures continue to warm. Temperatures will likely remain in the 30s Saturday night and Sunday — rain is likely Sunday morning-afternoon then changing to snow as colder air invades late Sunday.
