Walker Stands Mute In Court, Arraigned In Alleged Murder

A Presque Isle County resident accused of murder, stood mute in court on Monday.

55-year-old Brenton Lee Walker is accused of the murder of Marshall resident Heather Young, who was reported missing in the Onaway area back in August.

Police found her body a few days after the missing persons report was filed. According to police, Young was last seen leaving a bar with Mr. Walker.

Walker stood mute in court on Monday during his official arraignment at the 53rd Circuit Court in Rogers City. Standing mute is officially entered as a plea of not guilty.

Walker is facing charges of murder in the first degree, two counts of felony firearm, felon in possession of a firearm, and disinterment and mutilation of a corpse.

He is currently being held without bail at Presque Isle County Jail, and is next set to appear in court in December.

If convicted Walker could face life in prison.
