ALPENA, Mich. — The Alpena County paramedic unit offers emergency services to a patient and transportation to the hospital. The 1.5 mil dollar millage would be in place for four years.
In recent years, the cost of an ambulance has increased to two hundred thousand dollars per vehicle. Here in Alpena paramedics are traveling longer distances causing emergency trucks to ware faster.
In addition to replacing ambulances, paramedics could expect easier medical supply access, education services for volunteers and 911 service upgrades. Chief Forbush says, “Costs are going up and we are looking to make everything balanced for city and county governments.”
Voting will be available at your local precinct this coming year early August.
