Virtual church service is not enough

ALPENA – Mich -A local pastor recognized that his congregation was in need of a more personalized support beyond the internet and he stepped up to help.

Seats were strategically placed in an empty parking lot this morning as Pastor Joe Collins and his wife prepared for Sunday service.

Pastor Collins felt it was especially important to connect with his church family during this crucial time.

He said many in his congregation are faced with personal challenges which has resulted in some making unhealthy choices.

This is why it became priority for him to connect with the people.

Pastor Collins said its awesome to connect and see one another even if they have to keep their six-foot distance.

Despite COVID–19 restrictions, he remains committed to his purpose and meeting the needs of his congregation.

He says many people are dealing with what he calls hurts, habits, and hang ups and he wants his church to be a place they know they can come for comfort.
