ALPENA, Mich. — Alpena City Council held their meeting Monday. One of the topics discussed was the city starting a Facebook page.
The council discussed best practices among social media communities. One concern was the removal of someone should they violate proper use of social media in the way of being offensive, disrespectful or distasteful. The council voted that their staff would monitor comments and determine the removal or blocking of any violators.
City Manager Rachel Smolinski said she hopes the Facebook page will be up by April of this year.
The council also voted to remove the light at Second Avenue and Miller Street and put stop signs on either side of Miller.
