Upcoming trivia fundraiser to support child victims of abuse

ALPENA, Mich. — The Children’s Advocacy Center of Northeast Michigan (CAC) is seeking to raise money to help children of physical and sexual abuse.

On Saturday, March 16th, the advocacy group is hosting a trivia night fundraiser at Lost Lake Woods Club in Lincoln. Doors open at 7 p.m. All proceeds benefit services to provide a safe environment for interviews and medical evaluations for children and their families.

Community outreach and marketing manager Malinda Amlotte says the center wants to make sure children are comfortable.

“The funds from this event will go towards helping support the work that they do at the CAC, and also supply comfort items to children who are victims of abuse,” says Amlotte. “Sometimes their clothing might be collected as evidence, so the CAC would be supplying them with some clothing to wear.”

You can preregister now with the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services in Alcona. Set up teams of 4 to 8 people. Entry is $20 per person. Much be at least 18 years old to participate. Call 989-260-2311 to register.
