Trump gives first endorsement of COVID vaccine
Former President Donald Trump gave his first public endorsement of COVID-19 vaccines in an interview with Fox News on Tuesday night.
Following a NPR poll that reported 47 percent of people who supported Trump in 2020 would not get the vaccine if available to them, the former President went on national television and publicly supported the vaccine for the first time.
“It’s a great vaccine,” Trump said. “It’s a safe vaccine, and it’s something that works.”
Trump and former first lady Melania were both vaccinated in private prior to leaving the White House. Other politicians, like President Biden and former VP Mike Pence, were vaccinated publicly to promote the safety and effectiveness of the COVID-19 vaccines.
