Tips on taking care of your mental health during stressful times

ALPENA, Mich. — The pressures of the election, winter rapidly approaching and the COVID–19 pandemic can take a toll which is why taking care of your mental health is important.

An Alpena MidMichigan nurse manager provided tips on how we can take care of ourselves when faced with these pressures.

Nurse Manager Cami Misiak of MidMichigan Medical Center said people tend to isolate when they are feeling pressures like COVID–19.  Misiak said it is important to have a list of three people you can call to help when you’re in a crisis.  she said connecting with others is important for your mental health.  Misiak adds that exercise is important for your mental health.

She also gives suggestions for those who are limited physically and don’t’ have people to reach out to.
