ALPENA, Mich. — Career fairs have been forced to change their style as computer monitors have now replaced face–to–face interaction. Most recruiters are interviewing virtually leaving job seekers with questions on how to navigate the new way of obtaining employment. Not much has changed in the way of interviewing style, as you will still meet with a recruiter and be asked standardized questions.
Some job seekers may be confused when it comes to how virtual interviews are conducted and what attire is appropriate. Coordinator Amy Dykhouse, who has coordinated virtual career fairs, said they will be using Zoom for one–on–one interviews with employers.
Dykhouse also provided tips on how to prepare for virtual interviews and what you should wear.
Despite the closing of many businesses and the downsizing of some companies, Dykhouse has been receiving job postings ranging from customer service to tech. She recommends signing up early for virtual career fairs to secure your spot.
