Tip night raises over $600 for the Boys & Girls Club

Alpena, Mich. —Â Hundreds of people enjoyed pizza and helped out the Boys & Girls Club of Alpena Monday night.
It was tip night at the Pizza Hut in Alpena. Alpena Alcona Area Credit Union workers served folks and collected tips for the Boys & Girls Club which helps over 1,000 children in the area. Money helps the club with equipment, snacks, and supplies needed to continue functioning.
Folks could tip by dining in or taking out some pizza. It’s the second year, that folks could tip for a good cause and enjoy a tasty meal.
“It makes us feel really good,” Alpena Alcona Area Credit Union Worker Alison Jakubcin. “I know me and my coworkers are really excited to be here. We really value what the Boys & Girls Club are doing in the community, all the kids they help, so we wanted to do our part to help them!”
Tips collected tonight amounted to $640. Last year, the organization raised just over $500.
