Thunder Bay Theatre plans return

ALPENA, Mich. — The Thunder Bay Theatre is making steps towards recovery.

The Theatre’s remained relatively quiet since receiving heavy smoke and water damage during the John A. Lau fire in July of 2020.

But President of the Board Lisa Larkin said they’re getting back on their feet.

Since September, they’ve hosted online–only productions in collaboration with California playhouse.

And this winter, she said they hope to go local once again.

“We have a couple live events around Christmas. And in February, we hope to restart coffee house Fridays.”

Larkin said they only need to wait on one more building exam before they can start applying for grants. She looks forward to seeing everyone again soon.

In the meantime, they’re offering a digital who–dunnit show this weekend. Tickets are available on their website.
