Thunder Bay National Marine Sanctuary Halloween Party

As Halloween draws closer volunteers over at the Thunder Bay National Marine Sanctuary have been spending time preparing for their Halloween fundraising party.

On Saturday October 29th from 6 to 9 P.M., the Friends of the Thunder Bay National Marine Sanctuary will be hosting their first ever Halloween fundraising party.

The past few years they’ve hosted children’s events around Halloween, and this year organizers decided to add an event for the adults.

Not only will there be a haunted house and costume contest, but there also be a live DJ, dancing, and a cash bar including drinks from Austin Brothers Brewery.

For Phil Hartmeyer, one of the many volunteers involved in the project, Halloween provides another excellent opportunity to showcase the Sanctuary to guests.

“We’ve got such a great facility that it’s a fantastic opportunity to get more people, maybe people who haven’t been in the Sanctuary in a while – get them engaged with the building and just have fun. Celebrate Alpena, celebrate a great holiday, we’ve got a great spot to do it, so why not?”

And for those concerned about missing the big Michigan vs. Michigan State football game that night, not to worry – The game will be on at the party.

Tickets can be purchased at the door the night of the event, or by calling the sanctuary at 989–356–88–05.
