Three year state plan for aging adults
ALPENA, Mich. — The Michigan Department of Health and Human Services together with the Aging and Adult Services Agency is rolling out a new three–year state plan to serve the aging adult population.
The plan is to help older adults live healthy, independent, and fulfilling lives.
One of the goals of the plan is to promote social interaction and connectedness which includes access to transportation and technology.
According to Spokesperson, Alex Travis, this growing population has critical needs that cannot be met with existing resources.
Travis said the state plan will help better meet the needs of older Michiganders.
