Three motorcyclists from downstate arrested in Alpena

ALPENA, Mich. — On Saturday, Aug. 15, troopers from the Michigan State Police Alpena Post responded to a residence on Long Lake Rd.  after receiving a report of approximately 30 motorcyclists surrounding the house and pounding on the door.

The motorcyclists fled before troopers could arrive on the scene. It’s not known why they were at the house.

State troopers along with Alpena Police located a group of motorcyclists and initiated a traffic stop on eight motorcycles and one pickup truck for several moving violations. All were from the Saginaw and Flint region and displayed colors and patches from three motorcycle clubs, the Outlaws, Black Pistons, and the Pariahs.

Authorities searched the truck and it’s occupants where they found and seized some narcotics, three pistols, brass knuckles, and an assortment of knives. Lt. Derrick Carroll with the Michigan State Police says carrying a concealed weapon without a license is a felony. “Carrying a concealed weapon without a license, those are felony offenses,” he said. “There were no licenses to carry concealed weapons and they were found either on the persons or inside the truck.”

All three occupants of the truck were arrested on various charges; a 30-year-old man from Clio, a 41-year-old man from Burton, and a 44-year-old man from Flushing. They are currently lodged at the Alpena County Jail and are set to be arraigned on Sep. 1.
