The Lady Wildcats win first District Championship in almost 21 years

ALPENA, MI – The Alpena Wildcats Girls Basketball season started with brand new head coach Laura Dubey taking over the reigns after difficult 5–10 season and a first round playoff exit. In her first year, Coach Dubey and the Lady Wildcats improved their season record to 11–9 and got Alpena their first playoff win since 2014 after defeating the Gaylord Blue Devils.

In the Semi–Finals on Tuesday, Alpena got a close win over a team that normally bests them in the postseason in Marquette. The Lady Wildcats won by just one point and made it to the District Final against Traverse City Central on Friday.
