The Funks will continue their softball careers at Spring Arbor University

ALPENA, Mich. — Two Alpena Wildcat seniors will be taking their talents to the collegiate level starting in 2020. Alysa Funk and Abby Funk have signed their National Letters of Intent to play softball at Spring Arbor University.

“I’ve always wanted to play softball,” Alysa Funk said. “I believe Spring Arbor has an awesome program and Abby and I fit really well there.”

The two sisters have been playing varsity for three years under head coach Paul Marwede. During those three years, they helped the Wildcats capture three-straight Big North Conference titles.

“These two young ladies are great to watch,” Spring Arbor head coach Deb Thompson said. “They always have a smile on their face. They were down on our campus two weeks ago and just had a great time. We’re looking forward to having them on campus.”

Alysa will be majoring in Sports Management with a minor in Professional Writing and Abby plans to study Business Administration.
