The Barricade Situation in Mio – What we Know

After bringing the small Michigan town to a standstill for over five hours, the police ended the barricade situation peacefully.  The man who walked into the Pioneer Family Pharmacy with a gun was as 36 year old Ben Barron of  Mio. The man was arraigned Wednesday afternoon on charges of armed robbery, brandishing a firearm in public and being a habitual offender. The owner of the pharmacy told us that Barron walked into the building with a small handgun looking for antibiotics for a child. The employees in the store at the time told WBKB that they were very “shaken up” about what had happened.
