ALPENA, Mich. — The Alpena Community College Lumberjacks are getting back to work for the 2019 season. Last year, the Lumberjacks finished with a (3-16) record. This year, there looking to improve from last year by setting goals on a daily basis and they hope to be a major competitor in the National Junior College Athletic Association. Head Coach Sarah Parsons is liking what she’s seeing from the team and so are the players.
“We’ve actually progressed quickly the first week,” said Parsons. “Usually, we would be doing drills and getting to know each other. Next week, were going to start on playing and knowing where are spots should be.”
The Lumberjacks begin their season with a doubleheader on Sept. 7 as they hit the road to take on Schoolcraft.
