Tawas woman charged for animal torture
Tawas, Mich. — We have an update on the cat shot with a crossbow.
Eric Erickson says his cat, Oliver, is on the mend thanks to the help of the Iosco Humane Society and Tawas Animal Hospital.
Erickson’s neighbor, Taylor Shipman, shot Oliver with a crossbow earlier this month, claiming self–defense.
On Friday, Iosco County’s prosecuting attorney charged Shipman with one count of third–degree animal torture.
The charge follows a Sheriff’s Department investigation of the incident.
