Sunshine Friday; Wet weekend and colder temperatures

High temperatures today reached the upper 60s and lower 70s for most of Northeast Michigan, and a few showers moved through our area this afternoon. In Alpena, winds out of the south pushed temperatures into the upper 60s around 3 p.m., then winds shifted out of the east and knocked temperatures down to the 50s around 5 p.m.

Dry weather over northern Minnesota and Wisconsin is moving into our area, and we will see some sunshine tomorrow. The next rain-maker is currently over Idaho and Nevada which will move through the Plains and into the Great Lakes region this weekend.


Low temperatures tonight will drop to the lower 40s. Tomorrow will start with mostly cloudy skies and morning temperatures in the middle 40s. High temperatures will reach close to 60 degrees with mostly sunny skies in the afternoon. Cloud cover will increase tomorrow evening with temperatures in the upper 40s.

Get outdoors and enjoy tomorrow because it’s the only completely dry day until Tuesday. The chance of rain increases Saturday with on and off showers expected. Heavier rain is likely on Sunday in addition to a chance of thunderstorms Sunday afternoon-evening. A few showers are possible early Monday.

Some sunshine is expected tomorrow with high temperatures near 60 degrees. Limited dry periods are possible Saturday but expect some showers throughout the day, and definitely colder temperatures with highs in the lower 50s. More intense rainfall is expected Sunday along with a few thunderstorms late in the day. Skies should begin to clear Monday afternoon.
