Sunny weekend; Warming trend early next week

A cold front moved through our area yesterday, and winds out of the north are bringing in colder temperatures. Highs reached 64 degrees in Alpena, 60 in Cheboygan and 58 in Traverse City. Temperatures will be similar Saturday afternoon.

Overnight lows will drop to about 38 degrees. Saturday will be sunny all day with morning temperatures in the lower/middle 40s and afternoon highs around 63 degrees. Light winds will come from the east, about 5 mph.

After tomorrow, a warming trend will take shape going through midweek. Sunday, highs temperatures will reach the upper 60s. Temperatures will climb to the 70s on Monday. Brisk winds out of south will develop Tuesday and Wednesday, and that change in the winds will bring warmer temperatures to our area. Highs will be around 80 degrees Tuesday, then heating to the upper 80s Wednesday.

Saturday will be sunny with highs near 63 degrees. Temperatures will cool to about 40 degrees early Sunday. More sunshine is on the way Sunday with highs around 68 degrees. The bright weather will continue Monday, and highs will be close to 72 degrees.
