Studley named new athletic director at Alpena High

ALPENA, MICH. — On Tuesday, Alpena High School announced the hiring of Jon Studley as its new Athletic Director/Testing Coordinator. Studley will take over for Tim Storch, who recently wrapped up his tenure as AD for six years.

“I’m excited to be here,” said Studley. “I’m looking forward to being part of this community. The Alpena community has a lot of support for their athletics program. I’m excited to lead this program.”

Studley is a 2001 Tawas graduate and a graduate of Central Michigan. He has been an Athletic Director for over a decade. In 2009, he got his foot in the doors where he became the Director of Athletics at Sacred Heart Academy. From 2011-2015, not only he was the Athletic Director for Caro, but he was also the Director/Dean of Students.

He then became the AD at his alma matter from 2015-2016. During that time, the Braves boys golf team won the programs’ first state title.

For the past four years, he was the AD at West Branch-Rose City. He secured more than $125,000 in corporate sponsorships, provided game management for all home games, and worked with the local booster to help provide extra funding to their student athletes. He was named the Region 14 Athletic Director of the Year for the Michigan Interscholastic Administrators Association for the 2019-20 school year.
