POSEN, Mich. — Lucas Stone has never played football until his senior year. Luckily he picked up the game very fast. Recently, the North Star League announced their 2020 all-conference teams for eight-man football. Many area football players earned honors in one or two positions. However, Stone did the unthinkable. The senior is the only area athlete who earned all-conference honors in all three areas (Offense, Defense, Special Teams) of the game.
“This wouldn’t of happen if it weren’t for my teammates and coaches,” said Stone. “Even though I watched a lot of the game, I’ve never played it before. My coaches and teammates always helped me in practice.”
Stone was the big playmaker in all three areas for the Vikings. On offense, whether he was catching or running the ball, the senior had a combine total of 851 yards with nine touchdowns. Defensively, he recorded 59 solo tackles with four interceptions. One of his four interceptions and kick returns resulted in touchdowns. Stone and the Vikings closed out the season with a 2-4 record.
