Single-vehicle crash leads to OWI arrest

Alpena, Mich. — The Alpena Police Department responded to a one-vehicle crash where a man was taken to the hospital.
The accident happened just after 2:00 a.m. on the corner of River St. and 14th Ave. The driver of a mid–sized SUV had reportedly struck a utility pole before the car came to rest against the garage of a nearby residence. The 26–year–old man sustained several minor injuries from the crash.
He was taken to MidMichigan Health for treatment. Once clear of injuries, he was taken into custody and transported to Alpena County Jail for operating while intoxicated.
