Showers tonight-tomorrow; Dry and warm Sunday

Rain is moving into our areas this evening, brought by a low pressure system currently over Minnesota and traveling eastward. Periods of rain will last through tomorrow afternoon, then skies will gradually clear tomorrow night.

High temperatures warmed to 81 degrees today in Alpena and Rogers City. Elsewhere, afternoon temperatures reached the upper 70s. We saw a mix of sun and clouds earlier today, but the clouds have been increasing during the afternoon in advance of the incoming rain.

For tomorrow, expect periods of light rain in the morning and afternoon. Morning temperatures will be in the lower 60s, then afternoon highs will climb to the mid-70s.

After tomorrow’s showers, drier weather will enter on Sunday. Expect partly cloudy skies on Sunday and high temperatures heating up to 86 degrees in the afternoon. An unsettled pattern will move in Monday and Tuesday producing scattered showers, but more dry weather is expected later next week.
