ALPENA, Mich -In a virtual hearing in the Presque Isle County Court today, Shilo Ferguson was sentenced for a count of embezzlement.
33–year–old Ferguson was a public guardian for Presque Isle County probate where her responsibility was to safeguard funds to be allocated to those who were under her guardianship.
Earlier last year it was discovered by court staff that funds were missing which led to an investigation by Presque Isle Sheriff, Joseph Mulka.
According to Presque Isle County Prosecuting Attorney, Ken Radzibon, there was enough evidence to authorize charges.
Radzibon says the probate court was very instrumental in solving this case and he can’t thank them enough.
Ferguson had until 5 p.m. today to turn herself in. If she is a no show, her father will lose the 50,000 dollars that he put up on her behalf.
