Nunda Township, Mich. — another accident took place on I–75 in Cheboygan County.

Cheboygan County Sheriff Dale Clarmont is asking motorist to slow down due to snowmelt and ice thawing. The accident happened this morning at 6:30 a.m.
38–year–old James Smith Jr. lost control of his 2008 Dodge Caravan when he passed a vehicle and began to hydroplane. The car slid across the roadway and into a snowbank along the shoulder.

Speed was a factor Smith Jr. and his passenger did not sustain any injuries. Other areas around Northern Michigan are experiencing the same type of snowmelt, so it’s important to use caution on the roadways during this time.
