Seniors Break Record in Savings With Medicare Thanks to MMAP Team at Senior Citizens Center

For this week’s senior living we focus on the Medicare Plan D deadline grand total.

The Medicare Plan D deadline is now over and MMAP Counselor, Kitty Glomski along with her staff of volunteers were able to save seniors over $588,000 ending 2016 with a record breaking number.

“We have had a phenomenal year. We have a total savings of $588,000 for people that were choosing a part d plan. Also that includes 29,000 in subsidy savings from blue cross, blue shield legacy program. So huge year for the seniors citizen center,” she said.

Working nonstop since October until the deadline last week, Glomski revised and changed over 700 seniors Medicare Plan D coverage’s for the better.

“We had again a record breaking number of people with 729 people that came to the center to review their Part D Plan. Everybody should come do this every single year because a lot of this savings is because of these plans changing from year to year and you might be caught off guard.

Glomski said major savings came from drug generics and pharmacy changes.

“A lot of the savings came from the drugs themselves. People are on very expensive medications, and sometimes there’s generics available or sometimes there’s even savings by going to another pharmacy. One of the things I noticed with the plans is that a lot of times there is a preferred pharmacy or there may be an out of network pharmacy, and out of network means you pay full price for your prescriptions,” she explained.

Glomski said if you missed the deadline to change or revise your Medicare Plan D coverage still come to the Seniors Citizens Center and set up an appointment with her and her staff.

“Call me, schedule a time so that we can do a review. It’s so beneficial to understand what you have and for me to understand what your needs are because i may have a resource to help you,” she finished.
