Senate votes to acquit Trump
WASHINGTON, D.C.– The Senate voted 57 to 43, ten votes short of the two-thirds majority need for conviction.
Following a turbulent day of twists and turns, the Senate held the final vote in the impeachment on Saturday.
48 Democrats, two Independents, and seven Republicans voted former president Trump was guilty of inciting the January 6 insurrection.
43 Republicans voted Trump was not guilty of incitement.
