Sam’s Gift Fundraiser a Major Success With More Scholarships

Students in Northeast Michigan will now have more opportunities to pursue higher education. Thanks to the community, almost $12,000 was raised to help provide scholarships for students who want to attend Alpena Community College.

16-Year-Old Samantha Schrader lost her life in 2014 due to a car accident, instead of mourning, her family now holds an annual scholarship fundraiser—– Sam’s Gift.

Schrader’s aunt said the scholarships to help others wouldn’t be possible if it wasn’t for caring people. There will be a total of 23 students receiving $500 each in scholarships.
