Saginaw young men appear in court for drug deal gone bad

ALPENA, Mich.– Two young Saginaw men were arrested in August after trying to sell salt as meth.

Saginaw residents Duran Lowe and John Gaddy appeared via zoom for their court hearings Monday. In August, the two young men were arrested and charged with one count felony assault with a dangerous weapon, one count larceny from a person and one count felony accessory.

Lowe pleaded guilty to one count in exchange for the dismissal of another. He also provided details of the case to the prosecution. Gaddy rejected his own plea deal, requesting his quick trial instead. His next appearance in court will be on October 19.
