Roundball Roundup: Oscoda pulls away to beat Hillman; Alcona takes down Au Gres-Sims

HILLMAN, Mich. — Night in and night out, Lauren Langley continues to dominate on the floor. On Monday, the senior went off with 35 points as the Owls cruised past the Hillman Tigers, winning 78-51. The Tigers did all they could in the first half to keep up with the Owls. However, Oscoda managed to pull away in the second half.

Izzy Hulverson added 14 points, Macy Kellstrom had 12 points and Olivia Toppi finished with 11 points for the Owls. Bailey Schook led the Tigers in the scoring department with 12 points. Jessica Jones chipped in with 11 points and Davi Stewart finished with nine points.

Both teams return to action on Thursday. Oscoda (16-3) will finish their regular season play at home against Hale (6-11). Hillman (12-5) will look to get back on track as they travel to Rogers City for a meeting with the Hurons (4-13).

LINCOLN, Mich. — Rachel Layton had herself a game. She led the Tigers in scoring with 22 points as Alcona defeated Au Gres-Sims 53-14. Alcona jumped out to an 18-7 lead after the first quarter. From there, the Tigers never looked back as they picked up win No. 13 on the season. Kelsey Hansen scored in double figures as well with 11 points, while Megan Grove chipped in with seven points.

Alcona (13-4) returns to action on Friday for a meeting with Atlanta (2-12). Au Gres-Sims (2-12) is back in action on Wednesday as they will be in Bay City to take on All Saints Central (10-6).
