Rogers City Gears Up for Annual Light Up Parade

Rogers City is getting into the holiday season with their annual Light Up Rogers City Parade and Nautical event this Friday. Over 15 organizations are scheduled to showcase their lighted floats this year.

A lot of businesses will be open late for parade goers to enjoy, including The Painted Lady, Sugar Coated, Mr. Mustache, Presque Isle History Museum and more.

Rogers City Chamber of Commerce executive director, Shannon McKinstry said the parade is a wonderful community and family event that helps boost the economy in the area.

“For one it brings everyone together, and we have a little fun and people frequent businesses, and when people frequent small businesses you’re helping out your neighbor. It’s a real sense of community and I really think that’s important for thriving downtowns. It gives a boost to our local economy and it’s that small town feeling that we’re all searching for and it’s just a lot of fun. Everybody can come together and have a good night,” McKinstry said.

The parade will begin at 6 pm.

The route for the parade is set to start at Grambau Center down to Third Street to Westminster Church, down to Fourth Street to the Presque Isle Historical Museum.

Santa will be located at the museum for parents to take their children to visit.
