River Center Update
According to Sanctuary Board secretary Judy Kalmanek, an architect from North Carolina has developed a new concept design for the building.
The new design shows an in–ground building, with Geo–thermal heating and cooling as well as a pavilion entrance.
City Planning and Development Director Adam Poll said that Huron Engineering will be conducting a survey of the site before the architect can move ahead with the drawings.
In August City Council was shown a scale model of the proposed building, which they supported.
The current plan has the river center being constructed near the entrance to Duck Park in Alpena.
