Representative Bergman Holds Town Hall Meetings
Jack Bergman made a stop in Gaylord last night for his second town hall meeting, and visited WBKB News this afternoon.
The congressman made his rounds in northern Michigan, as he held a town hall meeting in both Escanaba and Gaylord this week. Both events saw impressive attendance, as the event in Escanaba required an overflow room equipped with teleconference video and audio.
Local groups requested Bergman’s presence at a town hall meeting back in February.
The congressman sat down with us today for a candid conversation about a range of topics, including his role on the Natural Resources Committee, and what being the 1st District’s Representative means to him.
“Not everybody who voted in November voted for me. But I represent everyone in the district. Whether they voted for me or not, whether they voted or not. That’s the job of a representative. In fact, on my business card it doesn’t say Congressman, it says representative,” said Bergman.
