Register your float for the H.P.C. Credit Union 4th of July Parade
The Carmeuse Calcite float was one of many elaborate creations showcased in the 2018 Nautical City Festival Parade.
ALPENA, Mich. — The Alpena Area Chamber of Commerce is reminding the community that time is running out to register floats for the 2021 H.P.C. Credit Union 4th of July Parade. The deadline is Wednesday, June 30 at 5 p.m. Registration forms are available at the Chamber office at 235 W. Chisholm Street or at www.alpenachamber.com. Late registrations will not be accepted.
This year’s theme, “All Things 4th of July” should be the dominating factor in preparing your entry. Entries will be judged on theme, creativity and appearance. Appropriate music is highly encouraged.
The parade begins at 1 p.m. on Sunday, July 4, 2021 at Besser Company and ending in large parking lot on the right before the Thunder Bay National Marine Sanctuary.
The parade route is changed this year due to the Bagley Street detour. The parade will take the following route: starting at Besser Company and traveling southeast on Johnson St., to W. Oldfield St. to Ninth Ave., follow Ninth Ave. to Chisholm St., follow Chisholm then turning left on Second Ave. to Fletcher Street, turning left to the large parking lot on the right just before the Thunder Bay National Marine Sanctuary.
Winners will be announced on Facebook after the parade and in the press on Monday, July 5, 2021. Prizes will be given for first & second place in commercial and non-commercial categories. For questions contact the Chamber at 989-354-4181.
