Real Estate One of Alpena hosts murder mystery dinner to raise funds for Special Olympics

The Michigan Law Enforcement Polar Plunge is right around the corner, and one local business is contributing in a very creative way.

Real Estate One is hosting a unique event to raise funds for their polar plungers this year.

Broker Lori Stephan explains the details of the the event.

“This year’s theme is ‘Murder on Maui,’ so that’s going to be real fun. We encourage everyone to dress in tropical attire [and] kind of get into the game. All of our agents are going to be the actual actors and a few extra friends. They don’t even know who the murder victim is yet, and they don’t know who the murderer is yet, so make sure you get a ticket early. It’s going to be a great fundraiser.”

Krista Hempel and Amy Wilson will be taking the plunge this year, and they’re both excited about jumping in for the first time.

Realtor Krista Hempel says, “I am terribly nervous to do it, but it’s exciting.”

Realtor and plunger Amy Wilson says, “I just think it’s important to give back to folks in our community. I’ve been fortunate to have three kids of my own that are very active in the community and in sports throughout their life and what have you, and if I can give back to the Special Olympics in a way in order to let those folks to participate, I think that’s awesome.”

Tickets for the murder mystery dinner can be purchased at Real Estate One on Chisholm Street. The dinner will be held February 9th at the Sandbar in Alpena.
