RC teen pursues dream at Interlochen

ALPENA, MI -A researched based company, ranks Interlochen Arts Academy as one of the top five best high schools for the arts in America.

One teen in pursuit of his dreams, packed his bags prior to Labor Day Weekend and moved to the boarding school 15 miles south of Traverse City.

“I love guitar so much I thought it was a huge opportunity,” said newcomer Jacob Bruski, “and when I got the acceptance letter, it was just …amazing.”

Here’s Bruski standing outside of his new home at Interlochen.

The 16-year-old is a guitarist and will study music for his junior and senior years. Four years of experience and attending music camp at the school this summer, opened up this young teen’s eyes to attend the prestigious boarding school.

Bruski talks about the growth he would make between now and his return home after the next few months.

“I know the guitar teacher here. I’ve already met him and he’s just fantastic. And he has assured both me, my parents, that when I come back by Thanksgiving…my playing would be unrecognizable.”
