Presque Isle Township Museum Society calls on community for help

PRESQUE ISLE, Mich. — The community is being called on to help save Presque Isle’s two historic lighthouses.

The Presque Isle Township Museum Society and the Presque Isle Township Administration have started a restoration fund to care for and maintain  both the old and new lighthouses which date back to the 1800’s.

Vicki Wright of the Presque Isle Township Museum Society explained why maintaining the lighthouses is important.

Wright said they are in the planning stages of an event called Giving Tuesday, which is a global event of generosity.

Wright added that funds raised from Giving Tuesday will be transferred to the lighthouses restoration fund.
