ALPENA, Mich.- Dozens of Presque Isle County residents did not have the opportunity to cast their votes today after the Presque Isle Township Hall ran out of Democratic ballots. The Township was out of ballots between approximately 4 p.m. and 5:45 p.m.
Many voters who did not, or could not wait, had to leave without casting their votes. According the Township Clerk, Cynthia Paavola, one-thousand Republican ballots, and only 200 Democratic ballots were ordered by the county. She told WBKB that she had no further comment on why there was such a disproportionate number of ballots requested.
