Presque Isle Electric & Gas reports thousands of outages
ONAWAY, Mich. — Several thousand Presque Isle Electric & Gas Co-op (PIE&G) members across Northeast Michigan are without power Monday afternoon.
Highs winds caused trees to fall onto power lines, resulting in about 3,200 outages throughout the nine-county service area. PIE&G anticipates that repairs will continue into tomorrow and that its members should prepare to be without power overnight.
Residents are cautioned to stay at least 25 feet away from downed wires and to report them immediately to PIE&G or to local law enforcement. To report outages and downed power lines, contact PIE&G at (800) 423-6634.
