Prescribed burn escapes control in Iosco
OSCODA, Mich.– Residents living near Lumberman’s Monument in Oscoda are being asked to evacuate.
A prescribed burn in the area has spread and affected more than 2000 acres.
Several fire departments are responding and even deployed air tankers.
Anne Freeman lives in the area and spoke to WBKB as she and her family moved to safety.
“Police came at about 3:30 and asked us to evacuate. They said there was two thousand acres that were affected.”
At least 65 residents have been ordered to evacuate so far.
